Larry Alan Hodge 1959-1994
Larry was my only brother, we have 3 other sisters. He was a good person, loved life, he loved being outside hunting, fishing,camping etc. and was a partier. He never had any kids, but has lots of nieces & nephews that he loved dearly & they all loved him.
At the age of 35 He was shot,by his wife while he was sleeping after a day of working.His wife admitted to the shooting,saying that she did intentionly shoot to kill my brother. Told that she sat at thier kitchen table and smoked pot and drank beer,to get up the courage.Loaded the shotgun.Went to the bedroom were he was sleeping ,and moved a night stand that obstruckted her aim and shot him...But only spent 6 mos. in jail! Due to smalltown rumors, lies and lack of experiance on these type of cases by the courts here.,Our family ,friends, and many people in our community are in shock & devasted by the not guilty verdict in this case. The court kept out ALL wittnesses who could testefy on my brothers behalph, the prossecuting attorney told us (Larry's family) not to worry, that we did not need to tesefy, because ,she had addmitted her guilt. But that left the jury hearing ONLY a murders lies of abuse. I was always a believer in our judicial system untill then. Now I just dont believe much in justic...SAD,,
I am 1 week from being 2yrs older than him. Every year I would call him & we would exchange happy birthdays.I miss that to.
I had a dream I a few yrs ago I was standing in a field & he came up to me ,he was handing me a flower( probaly a dandolion)lol. Anyway he told me to keep it until I saw him again but I never could reach the flower & he just faded away.

WHILE THESE ARE HORRIBLE CRIMES,,THERE IS ANOTHER SIDE TO THIS STORY...MANY MEN SUFFER FROM ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIPS ALSO....THEY ARE VERBALLY ABUSED AND THREATENED, SLAPPED, KICKED, BITTEN, AND OFTEN HAVE OBJECTS THROWN AT THEM, OR HIT WITH OBJECTS,,AND SOMETIMES OUTRIGHT MURDERED, (like my brother)....BUT MOST OF THEM SUFFER IN SILENCE,, BECAUSE OF PRIDE, SHAME OR FEAR THAT OTHERS WILL THINK THEM LESS OF A MAN, TO COMPLAIN ABOUT BEING ABUSED BY THIER PARTNER OR THAT PEOPLE WILL LAUGH AT THEM AND CALL THEM WHIMPS OR SISSYS FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO CONTROL THIER WIFE...AND MANY MEN HAVE THE SAME UNREALISTIC VEIWS AS A BATTERED WOMAN WHO STAYS WITH HER ABUSIVE PARTNER...THEY LOVE THIER SPOUCE AND BELIEVE THAT THEY WILL CHANGE, OR OFTEN THEY BLAME THEMSEVES FOR THE ABUSE,BECAUSE OF SOMETHING THEY SAID OR DID TO UPSET THIER PARTNER,, OR THEY STAY FOR THE CHILDREN....LIKE MANY MEN MY BROTHER WAS TAUGHT FROM A SMALL BOY THAT BOYS,, DO-NOT HIT GIRLS....SO WHEN MY BROTHER WAS BEING ABUSED IT WAS HARD FOR HIM TO DEFEND HIMSELF, AND STAY WITHIN THE BOUNDRIES OF HIS UPBRINGING...I KNOW MY BROTHER WAS A BATTERED MAN BECAUSE I SEEN IT ON A FEW OCCATIONS..WHEN i WOULD SAY SOMETHING ,HE WOULD SAY,,'OH SHE JUST GETS TOO MAD',,,WELL I GUESS SHE DID BECAUSE MY BROTHER IS DEAD......AND SHE WALKS FREE LAUGHING ABOUT IT....SO I BELIEVE THAT THERE SHOULD BE MORE FOCUS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE STORY, AND MORE AWARENESS THAT MEN ARE OFTEN ABUSED ALSO,,SO THAT BATTERED MEN KNOW THERE IS HELP FOR THEM ALSO,,AFTER ALL WOMAN HOLLER FOR EQUAL RIGHTS,,,IT SHOULD WORK BOTH WAYS.""
